Rufus Leonard was founded in 1989 by Neil Svensen and Darrel Worthington. 25 years of organic growth built on two core pillars of design and digital have seen us develop a unique breadth and depth of offering which includes brand, digital, content, service, design, data, consultancy and innovation.

In 2015 we were named BIMA’s Agency of the Year, as well as The Drum’s #2 Elite agency for both digital and design.

Based in a former Drill Hall in Farringdon, we are now 145 people and 5 dogs.


Andy Marshall

Head of User Experience
Rufus Leonard

Andy has more than 15 years’ experience working in the user experience industry. He’s worked across several industry sectors for clients including British Gas, The AA, Stagecoach, Bupa, O2, Skype and eBay. As Head of User Experience at Rufus, Andy’s role involves collaborating across the agency to inject UX thinking into projects and pitches, building, developing and managing the UX team and facillitating workshops both internally and with clients. He was also listed on the UX Power 500, a global list of the 500 most influential people working in UX.

Peter Barker

Chief Technology Officer
Rufus Leonard

Peter leads Rufus’ 30-strong tech team. He has overall responsibility for technology platform choices and the process and standards which underpin how Rufus build, run and support solutions for clients. A lover of all things online, Peter built his first website in 1994 and, after a stint working for companies developing ICTs in the old USSR, came to London in 1998. As a developer, he was instrumental in creating Lloyds’ first ever online banking service, and was also a key figure in the set-up and execution of online retail platforms for Smart and Mercedes-Benz – another first at the time. Peter has a degree in business psychology and a masters in multimedia systems, and joined the board in 2010.

Ross Timms

Ross joined Rufus in 2014. As Strategy Director, Ross works on helping establish the balance between a brand’s commercial and market aspirations and business objectives, its current or planned capabilities and the needs and behaviours of current and future customers. Ross works closely with the design/UX and delivery teams to help turn this work into a real and relevant customer experience.
Prior to Rufus, Ross worked at Engine and at IDEO in London and San Francisco as a Service Designer. Most recently, Ross was a Strategy Director at Wilson Fletcher. He has worked across the full lifecycle of design and innovation projects for clients such as BT Sport, RBS, Pizza Express and The AA.
